Recently I had the pleasure and honor of photographing fellow photographer Troy Grover’s wedding to his now beautiful wife Aimee at the Orange County golf course Strawberry Farms. Prior to Troy and Aimee’s wedding I had never worked at Strawberry Farms golf course. It was a perfect fall day for a wedding and the temperature was mid-seventies, ideal conditions for capturing beautiful wedding images.
Right away I new it was going to be a great day because you just can’t do any wrong when pointing the camera at either one of these two lookers.
Aimee was just a stunning bride and Troy looked dapper in his Grey suit.

One of the really great things about Strawberry Farms
Golf Course, beyond the beautiful course, was the wedding location- on the green situated next to an old-fashioned great big red barn. The amply-sized, modern, yet not-of-this-century, barn was a wonderfully charming place for the reception. It made a poetic backdrop for wedding photography. We took pictures inside and outside; as a matter of fact we used all sides of that barn.
Troy and Aimee incorporated some very unique things into their wedding which I think made the day very special.
One of the first unique things I noticed were all the bridesmaids each had on pretty different hats that matched their elegant black dresses accented with yellow in the bodice. As well, each girl held pots of yellow flowers as opposed to bouquets of flowers, which helped to set off the yellow in their dresses.

The guys looked sharp in their grey suits and vests which complimented the ladies’ dresses nicely.
The bride and groom saw each other prior to the

ceremony which allowed us three hours to have fun and play with the photography. I highly recommend this to
anyone who might be on the fence about seeing one another and taking photos before your ceremony. If you want to have great wedding pictures and a relaxed fun environment, do all your photographs before the wedding, then you can say ” I DO”, kiss, head down the aisle and be a part of your own cocktail hour instead of taking pictures and missing out on that extra hour to spend time with all those family and friends who came to spend time with you on your special day.
For you photographers out there, we shot video content of Troy and Aimee’s wedding for PhotographyMentor.com which is a website I created to help photographers learn photography. There will be six video clips where you can watch as I explain everything I am doing as I shoot. You get in my head so to speak. Steven Branstetter one of my past One | On | One students , came along to watch me as I shot the wedding, Steven asks questions throughout the day. Learn as I answer his questions, and while I talk out what I am thinking while I am shoot. Watch the sample clip to get an idea. then go to the school at PhotographyMentor.com to watch the rest, as well as over 25 hours of learning clips from some of the industries top photographers. I would also like to thank Christopher Wren who shot second for me. Christopher is and Orange County Photographer and a friend of Troy and Aimee as well. He did an awesome job and was a huge asset, we made a great team.

Was just searching google and found your blog, love it.
I love the shot of all the guys (and girl) and how they are posted up so “stylish”. I always try to go for this look because I see it in my head. But when it comes down to it I freeze up in the moment and end up posing them so traditional-like. Grrr. I need to get over that fear of stepping out of the box. I adore your images!!!! So dreamy. And I am definately adding Photographymentor.com to my google reader/favorites. I love how generous you are with your knowledge. Thank you bunches!!!
What a great wedding! You are such an awesome photographer Robert! Love these images!
